Happy Women’s History Month
As we celebrate Women’s History Month this October, the Ontario Regional Women’s Committee would like to extend our warmest wishes to you all. This is a time to reflect, honor, and celebrate the immense contributions of women—past and present—who have paved the way and continue to push boundaries in the fight for equality and justice.
As Chair of the Ontario Regional Women’s Committee and as your Ontario Regional Council Women’s Representative; I’m proud to lead this effort as we highlight the incredible work being done across our region. This month, we’ll be sharing inspiring quotes, fascinating historical facts, and stories of women who have made an impact—both throughout history and right here within our own community.
Our focus will be on celebrating the women who are working tirelessly to address the challenges we face today, such as advocating for women’s wellness, health, safety, education, career advancement, food security, and fundamental rights. These women are creating an environment where all women can thrive, and they deserve recognition and gratitude.
As we pay homage to the trailblazers who came before us, let us also honor the women who continue to fight for our collective future—protecting the rights we’ve fought hard to win and pushing for even greater advancements.
Together, we are strong. Together, we continue to shape history.
In Solidarity and Sisterhood,
Karen Spencer-Cousins
